2012-2013 WSOP Circuit Event Underway in Colorado

The 2012-2013 WSOP Circuit enters Colorado for the first time ever as the first of 12 gold ring events kicked off this morning. Reports indicate a solid turnout for the tournament, as hundreds of players lined up for their chance to sit at the big table.

The scene is set at The Lodge Casino in picturesque Black Hawk, Colorado. Nestled within the Rocky Mountains just west of Denver, this historic town is set within "Gregory's Gulch" where, appropriately, John H. Gregory first discovered gold in the western part on the Kansas Territory in 1859. The town now is a nostalgic gaming town, filled with over a dozen casinos in the town's historic business district.

As the WSOP rolls into town, so do prospectors from around the region, looking to get their golden nugget. The first event is a $365 No-Limit Hold'em event with players starting with 10,000 chips. Players advance through 21 levels of play to reach the final table.
