Travelling With Your Pool Cue Just Got Easier!

Airport Baggage Claim

The Transportation Safety Administration, or TSA, rolled back restrictions on what you can carry on commercial air flights. The change was made in an effort to align the restricted items list with other international carriers and cut the time it takes passengers to get through security checkpoints. "This change allows TSA to focus on the threats that can cause catastrophic damage to an aircraft," the TSA said.

The policy change removes the restriction on carrying small pocket knives and a variety of sports equipment such as pool cues, golf clubs, toy bats, ski pole and hockey sticks. The president of Southwest Airlines' flight attendants union, Stacy Martin, feels that the changes may increase the risk to passengers on the airplanes, while conceding that these items present less of a risk to pilots locked in the cockpit.

The change is scheduled to take effect on April 25th, and means you will no longer need to check your valuable pool cue at the gate and will help eliminate the worries of putting your new billiards cue into the hands of airport luggage handlers and hoping for the best.
